Dear Congressman Weldon:
Americans are proud of your strong stance to place U.S. citizens first when it comes to the control of our strategic national assets; and as a constituent in your Pennsylvania 7th Congressional District, I want to thank you for your letter of February 27, 2006 outlining your aggressive opposition to the Bush administration’s attempt to allow United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) Dubai Ports World corporation to acquire operations at six important U.S. ports.
Your courageous decision to oppose many GOP members in drafting legislation on a bipartisan basis to ensure that America’s ports are not delegated to an instrument of a foreign government with a history of association with terrorist elements—regardless of the economic benefits—is a sign of true patriotism.
Given your reputation as a primary congressional standard-bearer for protecting U.S. national security and your House Armed Services Committee probe of Operation Able Danger and its pre-9/11 attack warnings, I am writing to bring to your attention Under-Secretary of Defense for Intelligence Stephen Cambone’s explosive and top-secret notes written on September 11 which were provided to me by sources linked to the U.S. Intelligence Special Operations Group (SOG) who found Cambone’s notes from a recent Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) response placed in a daily SOG report regarding Defense Secretary Rumsfeld.
These direct quotes from Cambone’s notes written at 9:53 am, 12:05 pm and 2:40 pm on the day of the 9/11 attacks reveal that Secretary Rumsfeld was intent upon attacking Iraq at all costs: “Hard to get a good case…Need to move swiftly. Near term target needs…Go massive—(Sweep) it all up. Things related and not…Need to do so to get anything useful…Tasks [Pentagon attorney] Jim Haynes to talk to PW [Deputy of Defense Paul Wolfowitz] for additional support v/v Usis [UdayHussein] & connection w/ UBL [Osama bin Laden]…VP [Vice-President Cheney] Report: CIA intercept 9:53 EST [redacted]…AA77 [American Airlines flight 77]—three indiv have been followed since Millennium and [USS] Cole [bombing]…1 guy is assoc of Cole bomber…2 entered U.S. in early July…2d of 3 pulled aside and interrogated?”
I am enclosing the notes and a piece written for my website which goes into more detail and analysis as to the content of Dr. Cambone’s written observations; and since the Pentagon, 9-11 Commission and Robert Woodward’s Plan of Attack (based on exclusive interviews with President Bush) have deleted most of this key information in their respective investigations, final Commission Report and book, I am writing to request that you introduce these notes before the House Armed Services Committee and commence public hearings with a full and complete investigation of their contents, supported by testimony from key players.
Absent a grand jury probe, Armed Services has power to subpoena Cambone’s redactions likely to be more explosive than the above FOIA results; moreover, Americans want to know what Mr. Rumsfeld’s “good news” meant at 12:05 pm, just two hours after the last plane crashed on September 11—information that demands accountability and explanation in order to know the real truth behind the Iraq war and 9/11.
Your past courage is greatly appreciated; and as a constituent, I count on you to investigate the contents of these top-secret notes so that U.S. citizens can be assured that the Pentagon and 9/11 Commission have not obstructed justice as to the real reasons for the Iraq war, since no weapons of mass destruction were found.
