Citizen Group To Run 9-11 Cover-up Ads in Washington, DC

WASHINGTON -- March 22, 2004 -- (TomFlocco.com) -- A pair of citizen activists, Kyle F. Hence of Rhode Island and John Judge of Washington, DC, have placed themselves among those at the forefront of a grassroots, citizen-inspired quest for the truth about September 11.
Along with thousands of others also knowledgeable about events surrounding America's second Pearl Harbor, Hence and Judge have been single-mindedly and doggedly pursuing the truth about the unexposed and publicly ignored curiosities surrounding 9-11 evidence and its timeline chronology of events--but also the strange actions of high government officials who had operating control prior to and during the attacks.

"No 9-11 Cover-up" DC Metro Ad: Washington, DC metro train commuters will be made quite aware of the current stonewalling and refusal to testify publicly under oath by White House officials, but also the ongoing soft hearings, 900+ private interviews with witnesses, poor questioning and followup, lack of transparency while using "national security" claims as an excuse for continued secrecy, and colossal conflicts of interest that have been allowed to fester for more than a year within Chairman Kean's Commission.

As co-founders of 911citizenswatch.org, the two are ramping up the pressure today by running a month-long $35,000 "No 9-11 Cover-up" ad campaign with colorful, eye-catching posters on all 267 Washington, DC metro train cars transporting 600,000 commuters back and forth throughout the District of Columbia and its surrounding bedroom suburbs in Virginia and Maryland. The two have collected contributions to pay for the advertising which will be kicked off Monday with a prominent ad in the Washington Post, along with a press conference at the National Press Club at 1:00 pm today.

The metro train posters call for President Bush, Vice-President Cheney, National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice, former President Clinton and former Vice-President Gore to testify publicly under oath before the Kean Commission. One statement on the metro-poster: "Stonewalling the 9-11 Commission dishonors the dead" reminds District commuters that the President and his surrogates refuse to testify under oath--although Kean and his panel have thus far strangely failed to use their subpoena power to compel Mr. Bush's testimony under oath.

This, despite the fact that former President Clinton was subpoenaed to testify under oath before long-time career prosecutors trained to acquire the testimony needed for critical facts and evidence to become known.

The CitizensWatch newspaper ad in the Washington Post today charges the White House and the 9-11 Commission with excessive secrecy, given more than 900 private commission interviews conducted behind closed doors, compared to a few public hearings which, for the most part, have little to do with events and evidence prior to and during the actual attacks.

Hence and Judge's newspaper ad also asks why United States air defenses responded so poorly, despite specific warnings of air hijackings and a heightened alert, but also why federal agencies impeded investigations of terrorist activity prior to 9-11 and why Mr. Bush's August
6, 2001 presidential briefing warning of al Qaeda attacks in the U.S. is still unaccessible to the entire Commission and the general public.

Protestations by the independent 9-11 Family Steering Committee for the Kean Panel (www.911independentcommission.org) have reached a peak as the family committee has just gone public, demanding the immediate resignation of Kean's Executive Staff Director Phillip Zelikow who participated in urgent post election briefings, December 2000, and January 2001, with Sandy Berger and Condoleezza Rice--with whom he wrote a book prior to his controversial briefings with Berger while on the Bush 2000 transition team.

In one particular meeting the Senior Clinton Administration official clearly warned that Al Qaeda posed the worst security threat facing the nation, providing yet another advance warning in addition to "frantic" intelligence briefs from June through August, 2001 that could have prevented the attacks.

The Family Steering Committee has also called for immediate hearings by Congress to investigate the actions of the Commission which include failure to subpoena public testimony under oath by Mr. Bush and other top officials, ongoing and soft "history lecture" style hearings, 900+ private interviews with witnesses, poor questioning and followup, lack of transparency while using "national security" claims as an excuse for continued secrecy, and colossal conflicts of interest that degrade the quality and believability of the final report. And worse, the gross conflict of interest involving Zelikow has been allowed to fester since the outset of Kean's panel.

Moreover, some might say the Zelikow's control over the daily activities of the Commission helped to assure the panel's six-month delay in really getting started, thus using up valuable investigative time that was quickly running out. Incredibly, Zelikow is so conflicted that his fellow Commission members called him as a 9-11 witness to testify before their panel.

At 1:00 pm CitizensWatch will conduct a news conference at the National Press Club, and will be joined by 9-11 victim family members to formally present tough questions for the 9-11 Commission witnesses offering testimony on Tuesday and Wednesday.

"Americans deserve a transparent investigation into this world-changing event and the deaths of over 3,000 people. To date the concerns and key questions raised by families and citizens remain to be addressed," insisted CitizensWatch co-founder John Judge.

TomFlocco.com has also been active for the past two weeks in a worldwide phone-fax-email campaign to force the Commission to subpoena top government officials for the purpose of asking them the key questions submitted by 9-11 family members for the President to answer in public and under oath.

Many independent reporters will be asking tough questions at every opportunity during Tuesday and Wednesday's Commission hearings. TomFlocco.com will be at the CitizensWatch press conference and also the hearings at the Hart Senate Office Building on both days to cover the testimony.

Although National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice has refused to offer public testimony under oath; curiously, the Commission has strangely refused to use its congressionally mandated subpoena power to force her to do so. Thus, charges of cover-up and white-wash begin to arise from citizens who are increasingly demanding accountability and public testimony under oath from all high government officials.
